The Chiggy Ultra - 2026

The Chiggy Ultra takes place in Cape Chignecto Provincial Park, located in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia. The park is characterized by its technical single track trails and significant elevation changes. The course offers approximately 2200 m of vertical gain per loop, noted as the highest vertical gain for any running event in the Maritime Provinces.

Participants can select from various distances based on the number of completed loops:

  • The Rockhammer : A short course of approximately 9 km featuring hills, technical terrain, and two downhill sections.
  • One Loop : A distance of approximately 51 km with 2200 m of vertical gain, including the McGahey Canyon trail.
  • Two Loops : A course of approximately 102 km consisting of two full laps of the technical circuit.
  • Three Loops : A distance of approximately 153 km, reaching nearly 100 miles in total.

The terrain is primarily single track and technically demanding, with the potential for muddy conditions. Runners on the one-loop course have access to three aid stations. All aid stations on the course close by midday on Sunday. Those who complete the three-loop challenge receive a finisher's buckle.

The event policy does not permit refunds or deferrals, though bib transfers between participants are allowed until September 26. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
