The Thanksgiving Trail Trot is a holiday running event held in Sheffield, Illinois. The race takes place on Thanksgiving Day and centers around Homecoming Park (West Park), which serves as both the starting and finishing location. The race route is approximately 2 miles long and consists primarily of wooded trails. There are no qualification requirements or restrictions based on skill level. Participants are encouraged to wear Thanksgiving costumes, and an award is presented for the best costume. To ensure the safety of all participants on the trails, pets are not permitted at the event.
