Texas Canyon Trail Run

The Amerind Museum hosts the annual Texas Canyon Trail Run, taking place on the museum property in Dragoon, Arizona. The event features multiple distance options for both adults and youth:

  • 10k Trail Run/Walk
  • 5k Adult Trail Run/Walk
  • 10k Youth Trail Run/Walk
  • 5k Youth Trail Run/Walk

The courses are set within the landscape of Texas Canyon, characterized by distinctive rock formations, balancing boulders, and open fields. Large vegetation including yucca, ocotillo, various cacti, and scattered trees are found throughout the terrain.

Participants have access to three water stations and one portable toilet located along the course. In accordance with event insurance requirements, the use of headsets and the presence of dogs are not permitted. The property also maintains a no-smoking policy.

Registration includes admission to the Amerind Museum and Art Gallery on the day of the event. A post-race awards ceremony is held where overall winners in the 5k and 10k categories receive pieces of Native American art. Food vendors are available on-site following the conclusion of the runs.
