Texas Canyon Trail Run

The Amerind Museum presents the Texas Canyon Trail Run held on the museum property in Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ. The event features separate adult and youth options on both 5K and 10K trail courses that run entirely within Texas Canyon.

The courses pass among notable rock formations, including balancing boulders, and traverse open fields of yucca, ocotillo, a variety of cacti, and scattered trees. There are three water stations on the course and one porta pot; participants who expect to need more water are asked to carry it themselves.

Event rules include no dogs, no headsets, and a no smoking policy in compliance with insurance requirements. Packet pick up is available on race day. Race registration includes free entry into the Amerind Museum and Art Gallery upon showing a bib number or guest pass.

Awards include medals, and the overall male and female winners of the 5K and 10K receive a piece of Native American art. Food vendors will be available after the awards ceremony. The event supports the Amerind Museum’s mission of fostering and promoting knowledge and understanding of the Native Peoples of the Americas through research, education, conservation, and community engagement.
