Swissalpine - Trailrunning & Hiking Festival
Swissalpine takes place in Flims Laax, offering a diverse range of trails through the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. The event features various disciplines including trail running, hiking, and a dedicated run for children. Participants navigate a spectacular natural landscape that includes the Rhine Gorge (known as the Swiss Grand Canyon), the turquoise Lake Cauma, and geological landmarks like the Martinsloch and Tschingelhörner.
The courses vary significantly in distance and elevation, catering to different endurance levels:
- K78: A 78.2 km ultra trail starting and finishing at Flims Prau la Selva with +/- 4,624 m of elevation change.
- K78 Four: The 78.2 km distance completed as a team of four (2 women and 2 men).
- K42: A 42.1 km marathon distance with +/- 2,609 m of elevation, passing through Naraus and Cassons.
- K23 / H23: A 23.2 km route for runners and hikers with +/- 923 m of elevation.
- K12 / H12: A 12.5 km route for runners and hikers with +/- 421 m of elevation.
- Kids Run: A 1 km circuit at Flims Prau la Selva for children.
