Swift Bear Trail Run - Hays

4th Annual Swift Bear Trail Run

The Swift Bear Trail Run takes place in Hays, Montana, occurring during the Hays Powwow in Mission Canyon. This trail event offers three distinct distances for participants:

• 10 Mile Run
• 20 Mile Run
• 50K

The 20 Mile course is designed as a loop through mountainous terrain. The route features a variety of surfaces, including two-track roads, gravel sections, and approximately three miles of paved road. Participants selecting the 20 Mile distance who anticipate a completion time exceeding six hours are permitted to begin their run earlier alongside the 50K participants.

Specific regulations are in place for the 50K distance. This race includes a mandatory cutoff time at the final aid station, located roughly 10 miles from the finish line. Runners must reach this station within eight and a half hours of the start to remain in the event.

All races commence and conclude at the east end of the powwow grounds, marked by a white canopy and a check-in area.
