Swan Challenge : Coombe Abbey Park
The Swan Challenge is a six-hour self-paced lap event at Coombe Abbey Park, CV3 2AB, a venue managed by Coventry City Council. Competitors complete repeated laps of a marked 3.3-mile circuit inside the park; participants decide how many laps to attempt within the six-hour time limit. A half marathon requires four laps and a marathon requires eight laps.
The course runs mostly on stone pathways with a meadow section across open grassland that may be muddy depending on recent weather. Entrants can expect substantial tree cover and generally firm surfaces for this time of year. The route GPX is available but the course may be subject to last-minute changes and will be clearly marked on race day.
On-site facilities include a cafe and a toilet block next to the event HQ. Parking is available at the park with charges up to £5 depending on length of stay. The park lies on the outskirts of Coventry, about six minutes from M6 Junction 2; the nearest train station is Coventry.
The event uses a tiered entry fee structure, with a higher fee for unaffiliated entrants and a 10% discount available through the organiser’s membership. There is an option to receive a traditional medal or a Big Bear Tree Token that results in a tree being planted and contains wildflower seeds. Dogs are not permitted and rucking is allowed. The event has been held previously. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
