Swan Challenge : event overview

The Swan Challenge is a six-hour running, hiking or walking event organised by Big Bear Events on 10 July 2026 at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry (CV3 2AB). Entrants choose how many laps of the marked course to complete within the six-hour time limit. Entry is open to people aged 17 and over on the event date.

Course and logistics

The route runs through mature woodland, waterways and open grassland. The majority of the course is on stone pathways with a meadow section on open grassland that may be muddy depending on recent weather. The venue is managed by Coventry City Council and is on the outskirts of Coventry; the nearest train station is Coventry and the site is about 6 minutes from Junction 2 of the M6. Parking on site can cost up to £5. There is a cafe and a toilet block next to the event headquarters. A GPX file of the route is provided and the route will be waymarked on race day. Dogs are not allowed. Rucking is permitted.

Entry and extras

Entry uses tiered pricing; for example, entries before 10/06/2026 are £37 and entries after that date are £42. Unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. Participants can opt to make a donation to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. Medal designs will be shared when available, or participants may receive a tree token instead of a medal.
