Superheroes for Autism 5K

The Superheroes for Autism 5K is an annual event hosted by Center Missionary Baptist Church in Center, Texas. The event provides an opportunity for participants to support the autism community in Shelby County, with funds benefiting Uniting Pieces, a ministry that provides resources and assistance to families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Participants can choose from two primary events:

  • 5K Run/Walk: A timed course that travels through the trails and parks of Center.
  • 1.5 Mile Walk, Roll, Stroll: An untimed event open to all ages.

The timed 5K includes competitive categories for male and female participants across various age groups, including 9-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Prizes are awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners in each category.

The event features several community activities located at 443 Moffett Drive. Attendees can access sponsor booths and ballpark concessions. There is also a scheduled meet and greet with superheroes. Pre-race packet pick-up is available in the days leading up to the event at Farmers State Bank on Shelbyville Street. Participants who register for the 5K before March 1st receive an event t-shirt, while those in the 1.5 mile walk may purchase shirts while supplies last.
