Summit 50/50 - Salamanca, NY

Event overview

Nelson's Summit 50/50 is a trail running event held in the Red House area of Allegany State Park near Salamanca, NY. The event is organized by Salt City Trail Racing in partnership with Allegany State Park and Reluctant Runner Racing. It is USATF sanctioned and insured, Trail Sisters approved, and listed on the UTMB Index. The course uses groomed trail and single-track through rolling hills on a loop of about 16 miles with roughly 2,250 ft of elevation change per loop.

• 25km - ~16.1 miles; ~2,244 ft elevation; cutoff 6 hours
• 50km - ~32.2 miles; ~4,537 ft elevation; cutoff 9 hours
• 50 Miler - ~50.2 miles; ~6,873 ft elevation; overall cutoff 14 hours (intermediate cutoffs apply)

Race details

Aid support includes two staffed aid stations offering water, electrolyte drink, fruit, sandwiches, chips, cookies, candy, and ice when appropriate. A limited selection of hot foods will be available for 50 mile runners after mile 34. The course is marked with flags and signs. All entrants receive a pair of event socks and top finishers in each gender division receive prizes.

Entry and policies

Registration opens December 26, 2025. Prices increase in January and again one month before the race. Refunds are not available. Deferrals are permitted for pregnancy, injury, or volunteering if slots remain. Distance changes are allowed until online registration closes.
