Sugarloaf Uphill Climb

Carrabassett Valley, United States • 12 Oct 2025

Sugarloaf Uphill Climb is Maine’s toughest mountain run in Carrabassett Valley. The three-mile course climbs nearly 2,500 feet from the bottom of the SuperQuad to the resort’s 4,237-foot summit—the top of Maine’s second-highest peak—along the Binder Trail and work road. The race uses a mass start and finishes with a lunch and beer served in the Comp Center.

Spectators can hike or ride the lift to watch, and awards follow the results. Proceeds go to the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center. Hiking poles are allowed; bag transport runs from start to finish, and snow at the summit is possible. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
