Sri Chinmoy Sunset Half-Marathon

The Sri Chinmoy Sunset Half-Marathon takes place at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York. The event features a single distance on a USATF certified course:

  • 13.1 Miles

The race is held on a 2.95-mile paved loop around Rockland Lake. This pathway was repaved in 2020 and provides a smooth surface without cracks or potholes. Participants complete just over four laps to reach the total distance. The terrain is flat and fast, situated about 45 minutes north of New York City. The staging area is located near the south end of Parking Field 5.

Amenities include aid stations positioned every mile, with one main station that is fully stocked. All participants receive custom race shirts, and medals are provided to all finishers. Timing is managed using a chip system with a semi-automated backup. For nighttime safety, the course features basic lighting and a cyclist circles the loop continuously. Park police are also present on-site.

Medical personnel are available for emergencies throughout the event. Restrooms with running water and lighting are accessible at three different parking fields along the course. There is a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the half-marathon. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women as they cross the finish line. All participants must be at least 16 years of age. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
