Squirrel Challenge

Daventry, United Kingdom • 4 Feb 2026

Event details

The Squirrel Challenge is scheduled for 4 February 2026 at Daventry Country Park (NN11 2JB). The event is open to entrants aged 16 and over on that date. The country park provides a large car park; parking costs between £2 and £8 depending on stay. A café, a toilet block and a children's play area are on site. The closest train station is Long Buckby.

Course and format

The event is a six-hour time-limited challenge on a 3.3-mile off-road loop. The majority of the route (around 80%) is on relatively new crushed stone and the course is on pathways throughout. Entrants may complete as many laps as they wish within the six-hour limit. A half marathon requires 4 laps and a marathon requires 8 laps; longer totals are possible by completing more laps. Canicross is permitted; dogs must be kept on short leads and entrants are asked to follow specific canicross rules. Rucking is allowed.

Entry, pricing and extras

Entry uses tiered pricing: entries before 04/01/2026 cost £37 and entries after that date cost £42; unaffiliated entrants pay an additional £2. Organisers state there is no booking fee. A GPX of the route is available. There is a partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity for optional fundraising or donations. Finishers receive a medal or, as an alternative, a Big Bear Tree Token that results in a tree being planted and contains wildflower seeds.
