Springsure Mountain Challenge

Springsure Mountain Challenge is an annual fundraiser held on the second weekend in May, coinciding with Mother’s Day. The event takes place around Minerva Hills National Park, with the rural township of Springsure in Central Highlands, Queensland as its backdrop. It promotes active wellbeing and supports mental health awareness, with beneficiaries that deliver essential life saving services to rural communities.

The event offers multiple individual entry distances. Distances include:

  • 32 km: 18 years plus; junior 15 to 17 years
  • 17 km: 18 years plus; junior 10 to 17 years
  • 10 km: 12 years plus; junior 10 to 11 years
  • 5 km: untimed fun run
  • 1.6 km: untimed fun run; registrations on event day

All entries are individual; there are no team events. All registrations except the 5 km and 1.6 km receive a polo shirt included with the registration fee. Additional shirts can be ordered through the registration merchandise options. The 32 km route reaches four lookouts and takes in views of Minerva Hills National Park. Participants who prefer to hike the full route are advised to consider the 17 km, 10 km or 5 km options.

Presentation categories include trophies for the 32 km King and Queen of the Mountain, and medals and event mementos for top finishers in the 32 km, 17 km, 10 km, 5 km and 1.6 km events. Early bird and online registration closing dates are published for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
