SOWF Ultra

Nine Mile Falls, United States • 6-7 Jun 2026

Event Overview

The SOWF Ultra is a 24-hour endurance event taking place in June 2026. The event is free to enter and supports the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides educational and financial support to the children and spouses of fallen Special Operations personnel and Medal of Honor recipients.

Course and Format

Participants run, walk, or jog a continuous 4-mile loop for 24 hours. Each loop features a 200-foot elevation gain at Boat Hill, with roughly 300 feet of total gain per loop. The event records the total distance covered by each participant, with the goal for some to complete 100 miles. The participant who covers the longest distance receives a Start/Finish Banner and a plaque titled "The Airstrip Apex Predator." Last year's winner completed 60 miles.

Logistics and Amenities

The event is held at the Seven Mile Trailhead Airstrip in Nine Mile Falls, Washington. Aid stations on the route provide free water and electrolytes. No food or water is available for purchase. Overnight camping is available starting the day before the race for a fee, payable on-site. The event follows a pack-in, pack-out policy. Participants running at night are recommended to bring a headlamp.

Registration

Registration is open until the day of the event. To guarantee a timing bib, participants must register before a specified date in May. Participants registering on the day or without a bib can still compete, using a personal mileage-tracking app. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
