2026 Southern Footprints
Southern Footprints is held at Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, Ontario. Located at the southernmost point of the Canadian mainland, this venue is Canada's second smallest and most ecologically diverse national park.
The course utilizes a 5 km loop that immerses participants in nature through a combination of roads and trails. Depending on the chosen distance, participants complete multiple laps of this circuit:
- 15 km Run (3 loops)
- 10 km Run (2 loops)
- 5 km Run or Walk
- 1 km Kids dash
- Mascot race
Participants entering the 15 km event must be able to complete the distance within a two-hour time limit. For safety reasons, no dogs or strollers are permitted on the course.
Park entry is included as part of the registration. Attendees are advised to arrive early, as the drive from the park gate to the visitors center takes approximately 15 minutes and parking is limited. The event raises funds for the Erie Shores Health Foundation and Crime Stoppers. There is no race day registration available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
