Petersfield, United Kingdom • 28 Feb 2026
Event details
The South Downs Way Ultra Run is a guided trail event on Saturday 28 February 2026 at Harting Down, West Sussex. The route covers 30 miles and starts and finishes at Harting Down. The listed cost is £45 per person. The event is organised by Running Adventures, a Guildford-based provider of guided runs and coaching.
Route and practical information
The route follows parts of the South Downs Way and nearby trails, including Beacon Hill, Cocking Down and Kingley Vale. The course also uses sections of the Sussex Border Path, the Shipwrights Way and the Staunton Way. Kingley Vale is noted for its ancient yew trees and a grove of veteran trees.
This is a group run rather than a race. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be able to sustain about 10 minutes per mile (6 min/km) on trail. A full kit list will be provided before the event. A car park is available at Harting Down and the meeting point is a short run or taxi ride from a nearby train station. Trail shoes are available to test, and an alcohol-free beer from Days Brewing Company may be offered at the finish, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
