Thomaston, United States • 28 Feb 2026
Event Overview
The Soil Mates Trail Race is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026. It is the first annual edition of this trail race. The event takes place on a family-owned working cattle farm in Thomaston, Georgia, located between Macon and Columbus. The farm has been in the family for nearly 200 years.
Course Details
The course is based on a 3.1-mile loop. The start and finish area is in a large open pasture with space for free parking and crew setup. Most of the trail goes through pastures on a five-foot-wide path cut through grass. There are 1.2 miles of forest single-track trails with twists, turns, roots, and rocks. Each loop has 220 feet of elevation gain over hills and flat sections described as runnable. Wildlife sightings may include cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, and turkeys.
Events
The race offers three distances:
- 5k (one lap)
- 15k (three laps)
- 50k (ten laps)
All three distances share the same loop and start together. There is a 9-hour time limit for all runners to finish.
