Event Overview
The Snaketail 50 is a trail running event supporting the Swan Conservation Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving ecosystems in the Western Highland Rim. The event takes place in Summertown, Tennessee. There are multiple race distances on offer.

Course & Experience
The course consists of loops. The longer distances use a 13.1-mile loop, while the 6 Miler uses a 6-mile loop. The trails feature a mix of single and double track, with creek crossings and views from ridgelines. The terrain includes rolling hills and fast, non-technical sections. Each 13.1-mile loop has an elevation gain of approximately 1,400-1,500 feet.
Aid stations are available on the course. Cutoff times are 14 hours for the 50-mile race and 9 hours for the marathon. Pacers are allowed for 50-mile runners after mile 26. An early start option is available for the 50-mile distance, though those using it are ineligible for podium placement. The event organizers note that trail distances are approximate and "may run a little long."
Venue & Logistics
The start and finish location is The Farm Community Center at 100 Farm Rd in Summertown. Free camping is available near the start/finish line, with car camping permitted. Lodging options, including AirBnB rentals, are also available through The Farm community.
Packet pickup occurs at The Farm Community Center. The event is a fundraiser, and all race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Participant Information
All finishers receive a medal. A race shirt is guaranteed for registrations by March 31. Dogs are not permitted at the event for runners or spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
