Event details

Snaketail 50 is a trail running event in Summertown, TN, held at The Farm Community Center, 100 Farm Rd. Distances offered include:

• Marathon
• Half Marathon
• 6 Miler
• Kids 1 Mile Fun Run

Registration closes on Thu, Apr 9 at 11:59 PM CT. All race entries are non-refundable and cannot be rolled over. Dogs and other pets are not allowed for runners or spectators.

Course and logistics

The course uses loop formats: a 13.1-mile loop for the longer distances and a 6-mile loop with one aid station and a water drop. Each loop has about 1,400-1,500 ft of elevation gain and includes 10 creek crossings. Cutoffs are 14 hours for the 50-mile and 9 hours for the marathon. Fifty-mile runners may have a pacer after mile 26; an early start is offered but is ineligible for podium placement. Packet pickup is at The Farm Community Center. Free car camping is available near the start/finish area; additional lodging options are available on site.

Purpose and support

The event is presented by BMFJ in partnership with Swan Conservation Trust. Proceeds support Swan Conservation Trust efforts such as land acquisition, trail maintenance and marking, and wildlife habitat preservation in the Western Highland Rim.
