Slieve Bloom Way Ultra

The Slieve Bloom Way Ultra is an extreme 72 km mountain running event held in County Laois, Ireland. The race follows the Slieve Bloom Way marked trails, featuring a challenging 2000-meter ascent over a mix of fire roads, trails, open mountains, river sections, and some road running. Starting and finishing in Clonsalee, the course runs clockwise along yellow man markers.

The event requires advanced mandatory kit for safety, including waterproof clothing, navigation tools, and emergency supplies. Aid stations are located at five points along the route, with a cut-off at Glenkeen. Entry requires prior completion of an ultra race of at least 50 km.
