Sledgehammer Beach Run
The Sledgehammer Beach Run is on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in North Topsail Beach, NC. The event is owned and operated by the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission, a 501(c)(3) organization. It is held in memory of a Marine and World War II veteran and aims to honor combat veterans. A portion of race proceeds supports Semper Fi & America’s Fund.

Course and logistics
All race courses for the half marathon, 10K and 5K are on the beach. The half marathon has a 4-hour cut off; participants still on course after four hours will be picked up by staff and will be disqualified for awards. T-shirts are optional purchases from the race store and can be picked up with race packets or shipped to virtual participants. The event is rain or shine. Event address is 2950 Island Drive, North Topsail Beach, NC 28460. Current listed registration prices are $55 for the half marathon, $40 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K, and $25 for each virtual distance. Prices increase after December 31, 2025.
