USAA Frogman 5K Trail Run
The USAA Frogman 5K Trail Run is a community event in Jacksonville, North Carolina, held on February 20, 2027. The event was created in 2012 to honor a fallen Navy SEAL and to support combat wounded veterans, hunting and outdoor causes. Proceeds will benefit SE Outdoors and the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission.
The in-person trail course runs through a wooded property known as the "400-acres." The course is described as predominantly flat and was created specifically for this event. Medals are awarded to top overall male and female, top overall male and female masters, and first place in each age division. Everyone who crosses the finish line receives a finisher medal. The event has a two hour time limit. Insurance rules do not allow dogs at the running events unless they are service animals.
Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at Fleet Feet Jacksonville and an additional pickup window at a to-be-determined location. There is no parking at the event site for runners; participants are expected to use shuttle parking.
The event offers a remote participation option. The virtual 5K allows participants to complete the distance remotely; event details indicate a completion window in March. T-shirts are available as an additional purchase during registration with an ordering deadline prior to the event.
