Frogman 5K Trail Run
The Frogman 5K Trail Run is a community event held in Jacksonville, eastern North Carolina, on February 20, 2027. The event was created in 2012 to honor a fallen Navy SEAL and to support combat wounded veterans. Proceeds from the event will benefit SE Outdoors and the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission.
The primary distance is 5K on a wooded trail through a property known as the "400-acres." The course is described as predominantly flat and was created especially for this event. Medals are awarded to top overall male and female, top overall male and female masters, and first place in each age division; all finishers receive a finisher medal. The event has a two hour time limit. Insurance rules do not allow dogs at the running events unless they are service dogs.
Race options include an in-person 5K trail run, a virtual 5K where participants can run anywhere between March 1 and March 22, and a stroller child participant category for children five years and younger in a stroller at all times. Registration fees and windows are listed for each category, with the in-person 5K and virtual entries opening October 3, 2026.
Packet pickup is scheduled for February 19 at Fleet Feet Jacksonville, 1154 Western Blvd, with additional pickup planned the evening before the event. There will be random bib prizes for those who pick up on February 19. There is no parking at the event site; participants are required to park off site and use shuttle transportation. Accessibility accommodations are available through the event organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
