Slay the Dragon - Silver Star Mountain Resort

Slay the Dragon takes place June 20–21, 2026 at Silver Star Mountain Resort near Vernon, British Columbia. The event offers multiple trail race distances that start above 5,200 feet and reach viewpoints near 6,280 feet with unobstructed views of the Monashee Mountains. Courses follow alpine singletrack and mountain bike trails with varied and technical sections.

A separate Dragon King/Queen Vertical Climb on June 21 covers 1.1 miles with approximately 480 m of vertical gain on open slope without a marked trail. A kids event, Slay the Baby Dragon, is an approximately 2.7 km out-and-back on Cross Mountain Trail for ages 0 to 12; a marshal is posted at the turnaround. Finishers in the kids race receive a medallion, a buff, and a goodie bag.

Aid stations along the courses provide water, Tailwind, Skratch, gels, fruit, salted baby potatoes, mini naan, cookies and some glutenless items. Peanut butter and Nutella are not served due to allergy concerns. The event operates cupless so runners must carry a reusable cup or personal hydration. Mandatory equipment requirements include minimum fluid and calorie reserves and a jacket or emergency blanket that vary by distance.
