Slay the Dragon takes place June 19-21, 2026 at Silver Star Mountain Resort, a short drive up the mountain from the lakes of Vernon, BC. The trail course includes technical single track, sustained climbs and long descents. The route is described as well flagged and supported with fully stocked aid stations, first aid coverage, volunteers, music, an expo, and massage. On-site food and beverage options include burgers, salads, beer and nonalcoholic drinks. Registration closes June 12.

Kids race, Vertical Climb, entry and extras

The kids event, Slay the Baby Dragon, is a timed 2.5 km out-and-back on the Cross Mountain Trail for children aged 0-12. The course has gentle ascents and descents, a marshal at the turnaround, and finishes with a medallion and a goodie bag. Parent participation is suggested for young children.

A separate Vertical Climb takes place on June 22 at Silver Star Mountain Resort. The climb covers 2 km with 480 m of vertical gain on unmarked, open slope with no packed trail and a steep grade. Participants are guided from the gondola area down to the start zone. Early registration ended December 31, 2024; early entry fees were listed in Canadian dollars for each distance.
