FatShoe at Silver Star Mountain Resort
FatShoe is a winter endurance event that combines fat biking and snowshoe racing on the BX Creek trail system at Silver Star Mountain Resort. The event includes separate and combined formats and a children’s snowshoe race.
Main distances
- 10 km fat bike trails
- 5.5 km snowshoe course for solo racers
- 2.5 km Kids Snow Stompers race
Event features and services The race village includes fire pits, coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and a s'mores station. Racers receive a custom finisher medal and a toque at packet pick up. Course photography is available and some photos are provided to participants.
Rules and safety Adult entry for some distances requires participants to be 19 years of age by race day; a separate children’s event is offered. Participants must supply their own fat bike and snowshoes; rentals are available locally. Aid stations provide food and drinks and a first aid tent is located at the start finish area. E bikes are not permitted and participants must stay on marked trails to protect sensitive areas.
Series and location The solo snowshoe race is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series this season. The event takes place at Silver Star Mountain Resort and uses resort accommodations and rental services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
