FatShoe - Vernon, BC
FatShoe is a fat bike and snowshoe event held on January 9, 2027 in Vernon, British Columbia at Silver Star Mountain Resort, on the BX Creek and Knoll trail system. The event is organized by Bush Babes and offers solo and team formats, plus separate fat bike and snowshoe entries.
Event options and typical course distances include:
- Solo or Team duathlon: approximately 11 km fat bike and 5.5 km snowshoe
- Solo fat bike: approximately 11 km rider loop
- Solo snowshoe: approximately 5.5 km loop
- Kids snowshoe: 2.5 km noncompetitive loop
Registration information on the event page shows an opening in 2026 and a registration close date of January 5, 2027. Entry fees listed are CAN 55 plus tax for solo and snowshoe entries, CAN 110 plus tax for team entries, and CAN 15 plus tax for the kids snowshoe.
The kids snowshoe is described as a noncompetitive, participation-focused race; parents and guardians may join children free of charge. Relay runners register individually and include a team name during registration; team legs must be confirmed before race day. After the courses, participants are offered on-site food and drink options including hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, fire pits, and s'mores.
