Set in Kickapoo State Recreation Area, Oakwood, Illinois, the Siberian Express Trail Race is a 7.45-mile, 95% trail course that winds east from the park into woodlands, featuring steep hills, creek crossings, and wildlife sightings. The event emphasizes a wintry Midwest experience, with a time limit of 1:00 PM and no aid stations due to the season. Runners register on race day, and finishers are recognized as the first 150 to cross the line, receiving a finisher award on the spot, followed by a post-race celebration at Vermilion River Brewing Company.
