The Semington Slog takes place on 16 May 2026 at St Georges School in the village of Semington (BA14 6JP). Distances offered:

  • 10k
  • 2k

The 10k course starts and finishes at the school, goes through the village, onto the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, then follows lanes and bridle paths before returning to the village. The 2k is a loop from the school around the village via the canal towpath. The route will be marked and there will be marshalls along the course.

Logistics and facilities

Parking is available close to the venue (about a 5 minute walk); limited parking is also on side roads and marshalls will direct from the main road. Toilets and space to change are available in the school; there are no showers. Children’s activities include a bouncy castle. Water will be provided at the start/finish and near the 5k point. Ice cream, cakes, refreshments and BBQ hot dogs will be available to purchase. All finishers receive a "Slog Dog" at the finish.

Entry and prizes

Registration includes a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p). Entry fees vary by date and by category, with discounted rates for members of ARC WA SA. The event is organised by Friends of St Georges. Results and finish times will be published by dbmax. Prize categories include overall and age-group winners, village-resident winners, and 2k winners.
