The Semington Slog takes place on 16 May 2026. The event starts and finishes at St Georges School in the village of Semington.

Routes

  • 10 km: This route goes through the village, onto the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, and follows leafy lanes and bridle paths before returning to the school.
  • 2 km: This is a loop from the school around the village via the canal towpath.

Markers and marshalls will be present on both routes.

Event Information

The run is organized to raise funds for St Georges School and involves the whole community. Parking is available close to the venue, a 5-minute walk away, with limited parking on side roads.

Facilities include toilets and space to change in the school, but there are no showers. There will be a bouncy castle and children's activities.

Water is available at the start, finish, and near the 5 km point on the course. All runners receive a "Slog Dog" at the finish. Ice creams, cakes, refreshments, and BBQ hot dogs can be purchased.

Prizes are awarded for first male, first female, and categories including age groups and Semington residency. Results will be published online.

Registration prices for the 10 km range from £14 to £20, and for the 2 km from £7 to £9. Discounts are available for members of ARC, WA, or SA. Registration closes on 15 May 2026 at 12:00. The event is open, with 250 slots for the 10 km and 75 for the 2 km.
