The Selkirk Slacker Ultra & Relay is scheduled for May 23, 2026 in Golden, British Columbia at Keith King Memorial Park (1501 Maple Drive). The event offers timed ultra formats including 12-hour and 8-hour options and team relays. Registration is announced to open November 1, 2025 and to close on May 1, 2026.
Course and format
The course is a loop of 5.96 km with about 164 m ascent and 169 m descent per lap. Runners complete as many laps as they wish within their chosen time window. The Start/Finish area and transition zone are at Keith King Memorial Park and include team tent space, a timing tent and an aid area. There are on-site parking and washroom facilities.
Logistics and rules
There are no aid stations on course; water, electrolytes and food are available at the Start/Finish area and participants are encouraged to be self-contained on trail. Teams and solo runners track laps at a volunteer-run lap table; volunteers assist with lap counting for solo runners. The event is community-based and volunteer supported. Rules include no pacers, no bib transfers, no deferrals and no refunds. Participants must stay on the established course and follow a pack in, pack out policy. Dogs are not allowed on course but may remain on leash in the festivities area. The event will operate in varied weather; cancellation for force majeure may occur without refunds.
