Selkirk Slacker 12hr Ultra Trail Run & Relay
The 3rd Annual Selkirk Slackers Ultra & Relay takes place in Golden, BC, on May 23, 2026. The event features a 6 km fun trail loop course based at the Keith King Memorial Park.
Several race formats are offered:
- 12-hour solo
- 8-hour solo
- 2-person 12-hour relay
- 4-person 12-hour relay
- 5-person 12-hour relay
Each participant or team completes as many laps as they want within their chosen time frame. The start/finish area for each lap is a transition zone with team tents, a timing tent, and an aid station. Participants are encouraged to set up their own base camps there.
The event is community-based and eco-friendly. A "Swag Swap" option allows runners to skip their race swag; the funds are then redirected to Tree Canada, a non-profit that plants trees across the country. The Trail Running Film Festival is hosted two days prior to the race.
There are no aid stations on the course, only at the start/finish. On-site facilities include washrooms and plenty of parking. Specific rules include: no bib transfers, no littering, no pacers, no dogs for runners, and no deferrals or refunds. The event proceeds in all weather conditions.
