The 2nd Annual Running of the Bulls Trail Race takes place on July 12, 2026, with the Big Sky Events Arena serving as the event hub for packet pickup, the start and finish areas, and post-race activities. Routes use the Big Sky Community Organization trail system and include single-track and dirt paths through local landmarks and public land.
The event offers multiple course options:
- Trail 21K: about 15 miles with close to 2100 feet of climbing, route passes Ousel Falls and Spanish Peaks and returns to the arena
- Trail 11K: about 6.2 miles through Town Center, Uplands and Hummocks with close to 600 feet of climbing
- Trail 5K Relay (team of 3): three-person relay, each leg about 3.1 miles, combined time scoring, each leg gains close to 500 feet
- Trail 5K Single: solo 3.1 mile course through Uplands and Hummocks with close to 500 feet of climbing
Post-race activities at the arena include sponsor activations, food trucks and an awards presentation. The 21K course includes access to private trails and offers views of Lone Peak, Pioneer Mountain and Gallatin National Forest.
