About the race
The event is a trail running event in the Drents Friese Wold on 9 January 2027. It departs from RCN de Roggeberg in Appelscha and follows marked trails through the area.
The route passes along the Kanadameer, across heathland, through the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands, and over the Aekingerzand. The course includes several steep hills and varied natural terrain.
Distances, entry fees and route format:
- 13 km - €19,50, incl. S4N donation and admin, marked route
- 22 km - €26,50, incl. S4N donation and admin, marked route
- 43 km - €37,00, incl. S4N donation and admin, marked route
The organizer runs the event as part of the RunForestRun series of trail runs in northern and eastern Netherlands. Based on participant numbers, Sport4Nature donates to a specific nature project in the event area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
