About the race
The RUNFORESTRUN Drents Friese Wold is a trail run scheduled for 9 January 2027. The event starts at RCN de Roggeberg in Appelscha and offers multiple route lengths that run through natural terrain in the Drents Friese Wold area.
The course passes along the Kanadameer, crosses heathland, runs through the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands, and goes over the Aekingerzand and sections with noticeable hills. The route routes are marked for trail running and follow natural surfaces rather than paved roads.
Distances:
- 13 km
- 22 km
- 43 km
Entry fees are stated as €19,50 for 13 km, €26,50 for 22 km, and €37,00 for 43 km; each price includes an S4N donation and administration fee. The organizer supports Sport4Nature: based on participant numbers, a donation is made to a concrete nature project in the event area. The organizer also publishes related podcasts, including THE STORYBOX and RUNFORESTRUN op de Koffie, which present stories connected to the events.
RunForestRun organizes small scale trail events in nature areas of north and east Netherlands and positions this race within that series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
