Run Off-the-Grid in Mattawan, ON

Run Off-the-Grid takes place at Nature's Harmony Ecolodge, 574 Snake Creek Road, Mattawan, ON. The event uses a single 12.5 km loop as the base for its race formats and is entirely on trail with no pavement or roads. Consecutive loops are run in the opposite direction.

Terrain features include single track, old forest logging roads, rolling hills, steep climbs, rocky technical sections, creek crossings, a mud bog and a gravel pit with a sandy dune descent. A hike option is offered for the 12.5 km and 25 km distances.

The event supports local initiatives: five dollars from each registration is donated to the Mattawa Food Bank, a shoe collection is held for Soles4Souls, and remaining proceeds are reinvested into Nature's Harmony Ecolodge to support off-grid living, community initiatives, and trail development.

A post-race meal is provided with a choice of harvest chicken stew or curried lentil soup, served with fresh buns, pasta salad, and a leafy green salad. Vegan and gluten-free options are available. To reduce waste no disposable dishware will be provided and participants are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery. Additional meal tickets can be purchased during registration.

On-site camping is available without electrical hook ups. Amenities include composting toilets, eco-showers, a hot sauna, group fire pits, swimming in the bay, and a play area for children. Camping fee is CA$20 per person per night; children of race participants are free.

Bib transfers and category changes are allowed until September 23, 2026. Refunds and deferrals are available only through the registration platform's protection program; the event does not offer refunds outside that program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
