Run Off-the-Grid

Run Off-the-Grid takes place at Nature’s Harmony, 574 Snake Creek Road, Mattawan, ON. The event is a remote trail race on entirely unpaved trail terrain, situated in forested areas during peak autumn colours.

Distances offered:

  • 12.5 km single loop.
  • 25 km two 12.5 km loops, each loop run in the opposite direction.
  • 50 km four 12.5 km loops, each loop run in the opposite direction.

The course includes single track sections, old forest logging roads, rolling hills, steep climbs, rocky technical sections, creek crossings, a mud bog, and a gravel pit with a sandy dune descent. A hike option is available for the 12.5 km and 25 km distances.

The event supports local initiatives: CA$5 from each registration is donated to the Mattawa Food Bank, used shoes are collected on site for Soles4Souls in partnership with Bioped Footcare, and remaining proceeds are reinvested into Nature’s Harmony Ecolodge to support trails, programs, and sustainable off-grid living.

A post-race meal prepared by gd2go catering offers a choice of harvest chicken stew or curried lentil soup with buns, pasta salad, and leafy green salad; vegan and gluten-free options are available. Participants are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery. On-site accommodations include log cabins, yurts, geodesic domes and glamping; camping is available for campers and trailers with no hydro hookups. Camping fee is CA$20 per person per night and children of race participants are free.

Bib transfers and category transfers are permitted until September 23, 2026. A refund protection program is available through the registration platform; refunds or deferrals outside that program are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
