Course, logistics and support
The course follows the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) with out-and-back single-track sections along ridgelines and the southern rim of Lake Ouachita. The trail has IMBA Epic Trail designation. Terrain is rocky and hilly, with climb between 50 and 150 feet per mile (about 2,500 - 7,500 feet in 50 miles). Surface is trail or dirt road with rocks, roots and ruts.
The 100K course has 13 manned aid stations; the 100 Miler has 22 manned aid stations. Runners must carry a water bottle or hydration pack and a light when running in the dark; a backup light is strongly suggested. Pacers and safety runners are allowed in specified sections and must follow check-in rules. Drop bags are accepted for designated aid stations and must be labeled with name, race number and aid station. Finish awards include an event shirt and custom swag; 100K finishers receive a medal and 100 Miler finishers receive a finisher's buckle. GPX files and live race tracking are available. Camping and several nearby lodging options are listed by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
