Course and logistics

Distances offered:

  • 25K
  • 50K (complete by running a second 25K loop)

The race starts and finishes in the state park and otherwise runs on trails through a neighboring working forest owned by the City of Montesano. The 25K loop is mostly double or single track trail and gravel road with under two miles of paved road. Each loop has about 2,900 feet of elevation gain spread over many short climbs. Trail sections can be rough, rutted, muddy, and may include recently clearcut areas. Aid stations: one for the 25K and two for the 50K; they provide water and a selection of candy, cookies, chips, fruit, and gels. This is a cupless event, so participants must provide their own cup. There is a four-hour cutoff to be allowed to start a second loop and an overall cutoff of eight and a half hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
