Tampa Electric's Run for the Manatees
Tampa Electric's Run for the Manatees is a fundraising running event held at the Florida Conservation and Technology Center (FCTC) in Apollo Beach, Florida, on December 12, 2026. The event is sold out.
The course passes by the Manatee Viewing Center and follows trails on the FCTC campus. The event supports manatee conservation; proceeds from registrations will be donated to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The FCTC campus is located at 321 Noonan Branch Rd, Apollo Beach, FL 33572. Organizers note limited parking and recommend carpooling.
Two event options are offered:
- 5K in-person on the FCTC campus
- Virtual 5K with flexible day, time, and course
Virtual participants are not part of the in-person event. Event shirts and finisher medals for virtual participants will be mailed to US addresses the week following the event. Virtual participants’ results are not included with chip-timed in-person results and do not require result submission. Bibs, shirts, and finisher medals for in-person participants not picked up on race morning will not be mailed.
Pets are not permitted on site. Awards are presented to first place male and female finishers in the following age groups: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
