Round the Rock - Jersey
Round the Rock is a trail running event on Jersey offering three distances: an ultra, a marathon and a half marathon. The routes use coastal paths and inland trails and are listed on the UTMB Index for Jersey.
The course is marked only at junctions and decision points; long straights may have no markers. Competitors must carry the GPX route on a watch or phone and navigate accordingly. Aid stations are provided roughly every 8–10 miles with water at all checkpoints and additional drinks and simple food at selected points. The event operates a cupless policy so runners must bring a reusable cup or bottle.
The ultra uses a five-segment structure with a mandatory halfway cut at Les Fontaines and an overall time limit. Drop bags are optional for the ultra at the halfway checkpoint; marathon and half runners may send a small bag to the finish. Drop bags must be clearly labelled, small and waterproof.
Mandatory kit applies to all distances and kit checks may occur; required items include a way to carry kit, warm layer, hat and gloves, whistle, compass, suitable trail shoes, foil survival blanket, small first aid, at least 1000 ml drinking capacity, and a charged phone with navigation. The event is solo only: no pacers, no crewing and no outside assistance. Minimum age on race day is 18. Number collection is the Friday before at Mason Breese Corporate Offices, 24 Hill St, St Helier; there is no registration on race morning.
