Round the Rock

Saint Helier, Jersey • 31 Jul 2026

Event overview

Round the Rock takes place on Jersey and offers three race options: an ultra, a marathon and a half marathon. The ultra course is run anti-clockwise around the island and is described in five segments: 10.5 miles, 10.5 miles, 8 miles, 9 miles, 9 miles. The marathon joins the route at Les Fontaines and the half marathon starts at Watersplash, St Ouen’s. Course marking is limited to junctions and decision points, so runners are expected to carry the GPX route on a watch or phone; long straight sections may have no markers.

Race details and rules

Aid stations appear roughly every 8–10 miles, providing water at all checkpoints and selected stations offering squash, coke and basic food items. The event is cupless - participants must bring a reusable cup or bottle and carry a minimum 1000 ml drinking capacity. Drop bags are available: ultra runners may send a bag to Les Fontaines (halfway), and marathon/half runners may send a small bag to the finish; bags have size and weight limits. A mandatory kit list applies to all distances and may be checked; items include a rucksack, warm layer, whistle, compass, trail shoes, survival foil, small first-aid kit, charged phone with what3words, and a GPS device or route-loaded phone. Minimum age is 18. Rules prohibit pacers, crewing, dogs and unofficial runners; breaches can result in time penalties, disqualification or bans.
