Round the Rock

Round the Rock is a multi distance running event on Jersey offering Ultra, Marathon and Half Marathon options. Entries are capped to keep field sizes controlled: the Ultra is limited to 150 places and the Marathon and Half are limited to 50 places each.

The route is an anti clockwise loop around parts of the island with coastal and inland sections. Course marking is provided at junctions and decision points only; long straight sections may have no markers, so competitors are expected to carry the route on a watch or phone as GPX files are provided. Aid stations are placed roughly every 8 to 10 miles with water at all checkpoints and additional drinks and basic food at selected points. The event operates a cupless policy so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle.

The Ultra enforces an overall time limit and a mandatory halfway cut off at Les Fontaines; runners who miss cut offs will be withdrawn. The event is solo format with no pacers, no crewing and no outside assistance permitted.

Mandatory kit is required for all distances and may be checked. Required items include a means to carry kit, warm layer, hat and gloves, whistle, compass or watch compass, trail shoes with grip, a foil survival blanket, a small first aid kit, a charged phone with location app, a drinking system of at least 1000 ml or a cup, sufficient food between checkpoints, and a GPS device or phone with the route loaded.

There is no registration on race morning; numbers must be collected in advance or by a nominated representative. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
