Rogue Gorge

Rogue Gorge is a two-day trail running event held on a weekend in mid-October along the Upper Rogue Wild & Scenic River in the Southern Oregon Cascades. The races are staged at the Union Creek Day Use Picnic Shelter and Amphitheater within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, about 23 miles west of Crater Lake National Park and near the historic Union Creek district. Course terrain follows singletrack trails along the river rim through old growth forest and features basalt lava and pumice canyons, lava-tube formations at Natural Bridge, and several waterfalls.

Races

  • 50 Miler - point-to-point, 99% singletrack; 4000 ft ascent, 5900 ft descent; 6 aid stations.
  • 50K - mostly point-to-point, 99% singletrack; 31.0 miles; 3000 ft ascent and descent; 4 aid stations.
  • Half Marathon - mostly out-and-back, 98% singletrack; 13.4 miles; 900 ft ascent and descent; one aid station.

Logistics and services

Event services include course marking, aid stations, timing and results, medical support, professional photography and custom finisher awards. Parking uses the adjacent Union Creek Campground and road shoulders; camping at Union Creek Campground is first-come, first-served with fees payable by cash or check. Large RVs and long trailers are discouraged due to narrow roads and trees. Leashed dogs are allowed in the staging area and at crew-accessible aid stations but are not permitted on the course. A portion of proceeds supports the Siskiyou Mountain Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
