Rocky 50 Trail Race

Rocky 50 is a trail race held in Huntsville State Park at Lake Raven in February (2027 date: February 13, 2027). The event offers multiple distances:

• 50 mile
• 50K
• 13.1 mile (half marathon)
• Youth 1 mile

The course uses looped routes that wind through much of the park and along the lakeshore. The 50 mile is three roughly 16.7 mile loops; the 50K combines a shorter first lap with a full lap; the half marathon is a single modified loop. Expect rolling trails with many exposed roots, pine-needle covered tread, bridges, and lake views. Full lap elevation is roughly 1,250 feet of gain and equal loss.

Course wayfinding is marked with orange caution tape at open intersections, yellow arrows on stakes and trees, and frequent confidence markers; reflectors are used for night sections. Aid stations provide full support with hot and cold options; one named bridge aid station is set up primarily for half marathon runners and should not be relied on by longer-distance runners. The event is cupless so runners must carry a cup or bottle for aid station refills.

Logistics note: drop bag delivery is available to remote aid stations for the longer distances and the race hub centers around Raven Lodge by the lake.
