Rocky 50 Trail Race

Rocky 50 is a multi-distance trail race held at Huntsville State Park with the race hub at Raven Lodge by the edge of Lake Raven. Distances offered include:

• 50 mile (three 16.7 mile loops)
• 50K (one 14.6 mile short lap then one full 16.7 mile lap)
• 13.1 mile half marathon (one modified loop)
• Youth 1 mile

The route uses most of the park trail system and features rolling terrain, many exposed tree roots, pine needle-covered surfaces, several small bridges, and lakeshore sections. Expect roughly 1,250 feet of elevation gain and equal loss per full lap. The course is marked with caution tape, yellow arrows, frequent confidence markers, and reflective elements for low-light navigation.

Full aid station support is provided with hot and cold options; runners must bring their own cup or bottle because the event is cupless. Collapsible cups are available at packet pickup. Drop bag delivery to Dam Nation is offered for 50 mile and 50K entrants when delivered to Raven Lodge during packet pickup; Raven Lodge also serves as the primary drop bag and crew area. Timing is chip based with ankle chips; results show gun and chip times.

The event follows Leave No Trace principles; littering, including food waste and restroom waste left on course, may result in disqualification. Pacers are permitted under event rules and must complete registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
