Course and terrain: the route starts on the edge of Lake Raven and uses the park trail system. The course features rolling trails, many exposed tree roots, pine needle covered tread, several bridges, water crossings, and views of an east Texas lake. A full lap has roughly 1,250 feet of elevation gain and loss.

Logistics and support: the race provides marked trails with caution tape, arrows, and reflective markers. Full aid station support is available with hot and cold options, and volunteers staff aid stations. The event follows a cupless policy so runners must bring a cup or bottle; collapsible cups are available at packet pickup. Drop bag delivery to Dam Nation is offered for the longer distances and Raven Lodge serves as the main start and crew area.
