River's Edge Trail Race takes place on May 23, 2026, at the Katy Trailhead at San Gabriel Park, 1100 North College Street, Georgetown, TX. The event includes trail run distances and cross country mountain bike events. Running distances:
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 10 miles
- 5 miles
- Youth 1 mile (ages 12 and under)
Mountain bike events:
- ~22 miles (two laps)
- ~11 miles (single lap)
- ~11 miles E-Bike (E-bikes only)
Chip timing is used; chips are worn on an ankle strap. Pacers are not allowed. Awards are given for overall and masters categories per distance.
Course and logistics
The trail running course uses single track dirt trails that run along the San Gabriel River and link multiple parks, including Katy Crossing Park, San Gabriel Park, Rivery Park, Blue Hole Park, and Chataqua Park. Surface types include hard-packed single track, some technical sections, short steep drops and climbs, crushed granite through San Gabriel Park, and short paved or concrete connector sections where runners may choose to run on adjacent dirt. The 50 km follows the 25 km course twice; the youth route is an out-and-back on Katy Crossing trails.
Aid stations are located at the start/finish area, a central cloverleaf aid station, and a basic resupply station in the longer third section. Runners must be able to carry enough water for up to five miles between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring a cup or bottle. Drop bag service is not provided.
