Course, aid stations and race rules
The trail running course is single-track dirt that mostly follows the San Gabriel River and links multiple parks, including Katy Crossing, San Gabriel Park, Rivery Park, Blue Hole Park, and Chataqua Park. Surfaces include hard-packed single track, some technical sections, short gravity drops and climbs, crushed granite through parts of San Gabriel Park, and short paved or sidewalk connectors with optional dirt edges. The 50 km route is two laps of the 25 km route. The Youth 1 mile is an out-and-back along the river.
Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrow signs, and confidence markers. Signs at intersections indicate distance-specific turns; markings are not color-coded by distance. Aid stations are located at the central cloverleaf, a mid-section resupply point, and the start/finish area. Runners should be able to carry enough water for up to 5 miles between fills. The event is cupless; competitors must bring their own cup or bottle. Chip timing is used with ankle-mounted chips; results show Gun Time and Chip Time. Pacers are not allowed. Drop bag service is not provided; personal bags may be left at the Race Hub or Main Aid Station but are not monitored. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
