Course, logistics, and services
All races start at the Katy Trailhead single-track section. The route links multiple parks (including Katy Crossing Park, San Gabriel Park, Rivery Park, Blue Hole Park, and Chataqua Park) and follows single-track dirt trails along the San Gabriel River, with occasional crushed granite paths and paved sections of the San Gabriel Trail. The 25 km route is described as a loop that includes the Pickett and Chataqua Trails; the 50 km is two laps of the 25 km course. Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers; markings are reflective for low-light sections.
The event is chip timed; chips are ankle-worn, distributed on race morning, and must be returned if a runner leaves the course. Pacers are not allowed. Aid stations occur at the cloverleaf junctions and at the start/finish; runners should carry enough water for up to five miles between resupply points. Drop bag service is not offered by the organizer; options for leaving personal items at the race hub or main aid station are described. Parking is primarily at McMaster’s Sports Complex and the Georgetown Parks and Recreation admin building. Camping in city parks is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
