The event is the 11th annual Rangeley Moose Dash Snowshoe Race. It takes place on March 8, 2026.
Course
The course is a 5K snowshoe race. The start and finish are in the Stadium area at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center. The tentative route uses several trails including Lake Trail, Snowshoe Alley, Zapolsky, Tote Road, Moose Alley, Jeff's Trail, and Larry Hall. The course may change based on snow conditions. The terrain is varied, with wide straight sections, gradual ascents and descents, and some aggressive hill climbs and descents. The course uses a mix of single-track, wide open ski trails, and ungroomed snow. There are views and possible wildlife sightings.

- 5K Junior - Girls and Boys Under 20: $15
- 5K Adult - Open (Men & Women, Ages 20-39): $20
- 5K Adult - Master (Men & Women, Ages 40-49): $20
- 5K Adult - Senior (Men & Women, Ages 50-59): $20
- 5K Adult - Veteran (Men & Women, Ages 60+): $20
- Non-Timed 5K Tour (Ages 18+): $10
Other details
Pre-race registration is recommended. Registration can be done on RunReg, by phone, or email. Day-of-race registration is accepted up to one hour before the start. Prizes include local maple syrup. The stadium area is described as being bigger than a football field and provides space for mass starts and visibility for finishes.
