Overview
The Range of Light Trail Races take place in the Eastern Sierra near Bishop, California. The event is a fundraiser for Inyo County Search and Rescue. It offers four trail running distances: 5 km, 10 km, 33 km, and 50 km. The courses start and finish at the Millpond County Recreation area. Same-day registration is available on-site for the 5k and 10k distances, but not for the 33k or 50k.
The Courses
- The 5 km is described as a fun, family and pet-friendly loop from Millpond.
- The 10 km is a loop that ventures into the Tungsten Hills, featuring a significant hill. It includes a section of single-track trail.
- The 33 km and 50 km routes leave Millpond and traverse the Tungsten Hills on dirt roads and single-track trails. They feature significant climbing, with the 33k course diverging from the 50k course at the mile 16 aid station. The 50k route continues for a longer tour of the hills.
