Rainbow Ridge 20k/50k - Rainbow, Oregon (October 10, 2026)
This event offers two trail distances in Rainbow, Oregon: a 50K and a 20K. The course terrain is steep and volcanic, passing through old growth forest and multiple summits. The event listing states total climbing for the course exceeds 8,000 feet.
The 50K route includes a shuttle ride of about 15-18 minutes to the Olallie North trailhead, an initial six-mile climb gaining approximately 3,400 feet, and multiple summit climbs including Horsepasture Mountain (5,675 ft), Macduff Mountain (5,060 ft), and Kings Castle. Runners encounter long sections without aid, technical and smoother trail segments, and a steep final descent that drops about 2,700 feet in the last six miles. A covered-bridge approach leads to the finish at the community center.
Aid stations are placed along the course at named trailheads and road markers, with mile markers provided for planning. 50K runners may leave one drop bag; bags are staged at the community center and delivered to the O'Leary/Castle Rock aid station. Post-finish food is provided at the community center.
Packet pickup is available Wednesday, October 7 at Salvation Nutrition in Eugene from 4-7pm, with race-day check-in at the community center. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to Bridgeway House, which serves children with autism spectrum disorder and their families in Lane County.
