Rainbow Ridge offers two trail distances around Rainbow, Oregon on October 10, 2026. The event features substantial climbing and summit viewpoints across volcanic terrain and old growth forest.

The organizer states the courses combine large climbs and forested singletrack with expansive views from Macduff Mountain, Horsepasture Mountain, and Kings Castle. The overall event notes over 8,000 feet of climbing across the courses. The 20K starts from the upper McKenzie community center, includes a 2,600 foot climb to Kings Castle summit, and returns mostly downhill.
The 50K uses shuttle service to Olallie North trailhead and begins with a roughly 6 mile climb gaining about 3,400 feet. Runners encounter aid stations at multiple points, a long unsupported stretch of about 8 miles with 1,300 feet of gain, summits at Horsepasture and Macduff, a technical descent to O'Leary/Castle Rock trailhead, a 6 mile out-and-back with a small aid station at the turnaround, and a final climb to Kings Castle followed by a 2,700 foot drop in the last 6 miles. Final food at the community center includes pulled pork sandwiches, soup and beer.
Logistics: 50K runners may leave one drop bag at the community center for delivery to aid stations near miles 18.3 and 24. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 7, 4:00–7:00 PM at Salvation Nutrition in Eugene; there is also race day pickup and check in at the community center. Shuttle rides to the 50K start are about 15–18 minutes with two shuttles planned. Registration closes October 7 at 11:59 PM PT.
