Rainbow Ridge 20k and 50k
Rainbow Ridge is a trail event in Rainbow, Oregon held October 10, 2026. It offers two distances and routes that run through old growth forest and volcanic ridgelines with summit views over the McKenzie River valley and nearby Cascade peaks.
- 50K course with multiple summits including Horsepasture, Macduff, and Kings Castle.
- 20K course starting at the upper McKenzie community center with a 2,600 foot climb to Kings Castle.
The 50K uses shuttle service from the community center to the Olallie North trailhead and begins with a sustained climb. The route includes several aid stations, an extended eight mile section without aid, an out-and-back segment through a creek drainage, and a long descent into the final miles before the finish. Cutoffs apply at some aid stations. One drop bag is permitted for 50K runners and will be transported to the O'Leary Castle Rock aid station locations.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Salvation Nutrition in Eugene and there is race day pickup and runner check in at the community center. Race proceeds will partially benefit Bridgeway House, which provides services for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families in Lane County.
Post race food at the community center includes pulled pork sandwiches, soup, beer, and other items. Runner apparel and gear are offered as registration add-ons through the event shop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
