McKenzie River Trail Run (June 13, 2026)

The McKenzie River Trail Run is listed as a 50K event in Blue River, Oregon and is described in the organizer information as 31 miles along the McKenzie River Trail. The 2026 race will be the 38th annual running and is presented as Oregon's oldest continuous ultramarathon. Net proceeds support McKenzie Bridge area non-profits and the event is operated under a special use permit from the Willamette National Forest.

The course begins at Carmen Reservoir, follows the Waterfalls Trail, passes Clear Lake and the Santiam Wagon Road, goes through Clear Lake resort, crosses Highway 126, and then follows the McKenzie River Trail downriver toward the finish near the McKenzie River Ranger Station. Notable features along the route include waterfalls, lava flows, old growth forest, numerous log bridges, and Tamolitch Pool.

Aid stations will be located approximately every 4 to 6 miles and will offer water, electrolyte drink, gels, and typical aid station food. The race is cupless so runners must bring a reusable cup, flask, or bottle; a limited number of cups will be available for purchase at packet pick up. Drop bags may be delivered to Aid 3 at mile 16.7. Time cutoffs are enforced beginning at aid station 2 near mile 11.5 to ensure runners are off course within an eight hour window.

Entry for 2026 is listed at $115 and includes shuttle service from the McKenzie Community Track to the start and from the finish back to the track. Registration opens January 1 and closes June 1 with a wait list used when the field fills. Refunds for cancellations before April 15 are listed at 50 percent and registration is not transferable. Awards are given to overall first through third and to top finishers by gender and non-binary categories plus age group winners in standard age brackets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
