The Rainbow Beach Trail Festival is held on Saturday 8 August 2026 at Phil Rogers Park, Rainbow Beach, Queensland. The event is organised by Run Qld and is based at the park where all races start and finish. Race sign-on takes place the day before and on race morning. No entries are available on the day.

Minimum age limits apply: 11 km - 12 years; Half Marathon - 15 years; Marathon - 18 years. All finishers receive an event memento. Refunds are available until 25 July 2026 with a $30 administration charge. Transfers to another person or another event are not permitted. Maps, GPX and KML files are provided for each course.

Course, checkpoints and gear

Courses run through the Cooloola Coast area and include single track, fire roads and beaches, passing sand cliffs, coloured sands, forests, perched lakes, dunes and the historic lighthouse. The course is marked with reflective orange flagging tape (approximately every 250 m), red directional arrows, and red crosses to indicate routes that are not part of the course. Checkpoints 1, 3 and 5 supply water, electrolyte, lollies, fruit and small snacks but no disposable cups; checkpoints 2 and 4 have minimal water. No drop bags and no support crews are allowed on course; support crews may be at the start/finish area only. Mandatory items include a mobile phone with emergency contacts, a race bib, water (marathon minimum 1.5 litres, half/11 km minimum 500 ml) and a compression bandage.
