Rainbow Beach Trail Festival

The Rainbow Beach Trail Festival is a trail running event on Saturday 8 August 2026 in Rainbow Beach, based at Phil Rogers Park. The course passes the coloured sand cliffs of the Cooloola Coast and runs along single track, fire roads and beaches through forests, perched lakes, sand dunes and past the historic lighthouse.

The event offers three race distances:

• 11 km
• Half Marathon
• Marathon

Entry is required before race day; no entries are accepted on the day. Prices are set per distance and include GST. Refunds are available until 25 July 2026 subject to a $30 administration charge. Transfers to another person or event are not permitted. Minimum age limits apply and participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. All finishers receive an event memento.

Course markings include reflective orange and silver flagging tape, red directional arrows at intersections and red crosses marking incorrect routes. Checkpoints 1, 3 and 5 supply water, electrolyte, some lollies, fruit and small snacks but no cups. Checkpoints 2 and 4 provide minimal water. The event does not provide disposable cups and there are no drop bags.

Mandatory equipment includes a mobile phone with emergency contacts, visible race bib, a compression bandage and a water container meeting minimum capacity requirements.
