Rail Trail Run and Ride - Scottsdale, Tasmania
The Rail Trail Run and Ride is a community event along the North East Tasmania Rail Trail between Scottsdale and Billycock Hill. Established in 2018, the event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Scottsdale in partnership with the Launceston Running Club. The 2026 festival weekend includes a festival opening on Friday 18 September, running events on Saturday 19 September, and riding events on Sunday 20 September. Registrations open on Tuesday 2 June 2026.
Entry fees cover on-course support such as multiple hydration and aid stations, a dedicated emergency response team, and professional traffic management at road crossings. Participant inclusions listed for 2026 include a personalised entry bib for entries received by 24 August 2026, a finisher’s medal, and a Rotary Food Van voucher. The event is not-for-profit and proceeds go toward maintaining and improving the rail trail. No on-the-day entries will be accepted in 2026.
There are Early Bird and Late entry periods. Early Bird fees apply until 24 August 2026 and Late fees until 16 September 2026. Typical price ranges are $10 to $130 for run events and $15 to $60 for ride events. Discounts are available for family entries, multi-day entries, and members of selected clubs including Launceston Running Club and Tamar Bicycle User Group.
