Race to the King is a trail ultramarathon on 20th June 2026, based at West Dean Gardens. The course follows sections of the South Downs Way and Monarch's Way and includes coastal sections around Chichester Harbour, passing Bosham and areas near Arundel Castle. The event lists a cut-off of 25+ hours. Entry prices start from £30 per person and payment plans are available; individual race prices are published for each distance. Charity entry options are offered with reduced entry fees.

Distances include a 30 km Monarch’s Loop, two 50 km options (Coastal 50k and Castle 50k), an 80 km non-stop option that combines the Coastal 50k and the 30k loop, and a 100 km non-stop route that combines both 50 km loops. Routes are fully waymarked for day and night running and feature individual chip timing.

The event provides organised support such as pit stops with food and drink, hot food at halfway, a hot meal at the finish, bag transfer to finish lines, bookable shuttles and parking, on-trail medical provision with paramedic teams and medical clinics, and centralised event control. Finish facilities include a finisher’s medal, finish-line photography, merchandise, and onward shuttle options.
