Race the Helix-Upstate - Greenville, SC
Race the Helix-Upstate is the 12th annual event held on March 7, 2026 in Greenville at Lake Conestee Nature Park. The event was created to raise awareness of genetic disorders and to fund genetic research. All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation to support genetics services, testing, and research for affected families.
The event offers both live and virtual participation. Live options at the park include a 5K trail run with chip timing and a 1 mile paved course for walkers and runners. Both courses can accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. Pre-packaged snacks, water, and coffee will be provided on site.
Distances:
- 5K trail run with chip timing
- 1 mile paved course for walkers and runners
Entry fees and apparel details are set separately for live and virtual entries: the 5K has an entry fee, the 1 mile walk is free, and long sleeve shirts are available for purchase for an additional fee when registering before February 14 to guarantee size. Virtual participants who purchase a shirt will pick it up at a Greenwood Genetic Center location. Awards are given to top male and female finishers overall and to top male and female in multiple age groups including 12 and under through 70 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
