Race for DFL

The Race for DFL is a backyard ultra event held at Kenty’s Farm in Winchendon, Massachusetts. The competition takes place on a 4.1666 mile loop consisting of a mix of terrain, including grassy fields, dirt trails, a crushed gravel bike path, and dirt roads. Each lap features approximately 150 feet of elevation gain.

The event follows a "last runner standing" format. Participants must complete one lap every hour on the hour. The race continues until only one runner remains to complete a final solo lap. As a BRONZE Ticket Backyard Ultra, the winner qualifies for a Silver Ticket event. Participants aiming for fewer than 12 laps have the flexibility to begin their first lap at any hour between 8:00 am and noon.

In addition to the main ultra, the event offers timed races and a single lap challenge:

  • 24-hour race
  • 12-hour race
  • 6-hour race
  • 4.1666 mile race (Single lap)

The 4.1666 mile race allows participants to join any hourly lap to record their fastest time. Special themed hours are scheduled throughout the day, including a Female Hour, Pride Hour, Costume Hour, and Glow in the Dark Hour.

The start and finish area is located in a private backyard setting where runners can set up personal crew areas or pop-up tents. An aid station provides a variety of food, and participants are encouraged to bring items to share. Parking is located 100-200 yards from the start area, with a shuttle trailer available to transport gear. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
