Race for DFL

Race for DFL is a backyard ultra held at Kenty's Farm in Winchendon MA. The event uses a 4.1666 mile loop that mixes surfaces: about 0.3 mile of field, 0.7 mile of dirt trail, 1.5 miles of crushed gravel bike path, and 1.7 miles of dirt or gravel road. The course is relatively flat with roughly 150 feet of climbing per lap. A .gpx file will be shared when the route is finalized.

The main format is a last-runner-standing backyard ultra. Competitors complete the loop each hour and must line up again to start the next lap; the process continues until one runner remains. This edition is a Bronze Ticket backyard ultra, which qualifies the winner for a higher-level Silver Ticket event in the series. The organizer also offers timed continuous options of 6, 12, and 24 hours, and a single-lap option where runners may attempt multiple laps to record their best time. Alternative start times are available on request. Timed race rules allow pacers to join runners after six hours, with one pacer at a time.

The event takes place in a private yard setting. Parking is set back from the start area and an ATV with a trailer will assist gear transport. Aid station supplies will be a mix of leftover race food; participants may bring personal items. The first 150 entrants receive pompom hats. Entry fees cover permitting, portapotties, and the participation hat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
