Race for DFL

Race for DFL is a last runner standing backyard ultra held at Kenty’s Farm in Winchendon MA on November 7, 2026. The event is a BRONZE Ticket Backyard Ultra, with the winner qualifying for a Silver Ticket Backyard Ultra.

The core format uses a repeated lap of 4.1666 miles. Every hour competitors line up to start a new lap and must complete the lap to continue; the race proceeds until one runner remains. Timed race options run continuously for 6, 12, or 24 hours and include marked partial lap options for extra distance at the end of a time block. Pacers are permitted for runners after six hours with one pacer at a time.

A single-lap competition uses the same course; each lap is timed and results are compiled from participants' best lap times during the day. The event includes themed laps during the day such as a female hour, a pride hour, a costume hour, and a glow in the dark hour.

The course mixes terrain and is relatively flat with about 150 feet of climbing per lap. It starts and ends on a grassy field and includes field, dirt trail, crushed gravel bike path, and dirt/gravel road segments. Parking is 100 to 200 yards from the start area; an ATV and site wagon will help transport gear. Aid station supplies are assorted leftovers from other races and participants are welcome to share food. The entry fee covers permitting, portapotties, and a pom pom hat for early registrants.
