The Pinnacles Classic is an 18km trail running event held at Gold Creek Reservoir in Brisbane Forest Park, featuring a challenging course with 750m of elevation gain. Originating from a small community race, it has grown into a popular challenge for trail runners, offering a scenic route through natural bushland with 18 distinct climbs known as "mounds of opportunity." The race alternates direction annually, with the 2025 edition run anti-clockwise. Participants must carry fluids, with a mid-course checkpoint providing water, electrolytes, and snacks. Post-race refreshments include fruit and drinks, with coffee and smoothies available for purchase. The event is limited to 200 runners and emphasizes environmental care.
