The Pinnacles Classic is a trail running event held on trails around Gold Creek Reservoir in Brisbane Forest Park (D’Aguilar National Park). The event is limited to 200 participants and has an age requirement of over 16 years on race day. Entry options include the Pinnacles Classic and the Pinnacles Double (36 km). Refunds are available up to two weeks before the event, less a A$20 administration charge. TRAQ members receive a 10% discount when entering with a membership code.

Race details

  • 18 km course through mixed trail around Gold Creek Reservoir, with total elevation gain of 750 m.
  • 36 km option (Pinnacles Double).

The route direction alternates by year; odd years are run anti-clockwise. There is one checkpoint approximately halfway on the course providing water, coke, Tailwind electrolyte drink, and lollies. Runners must carry at least 750 ml of fluids. Post-race provisions include fresh fruit and replenishment drinks; coffee and smoothies are available to purchase. Participants park at Brookfield Recreation Reserve and are bused to the reservoir because there is no on-site parking. A full race map is provided by the organiser.
