Pinnacles Classic

The Pinnacles Classic is a trail running event at Gold Creek Reservoir, Brookfield in Brisbane Forest Park. The main course is an 18 km loop around the reservoir with a stated total elevation gain of 750 m and includes 18 named hills. For 2026 there is also a Double Pinnacles option that runs the loop twice, 36 km with 1500 m total elevation gain and 36 hills. In 2026 the course is run clockwise; the direction alternates by year.

Participants must be 16 years or older. The event is limited to 200 entrants. Cut-off limits are enforced as time limits of 4.5 hours for the Classic and 6 hours for the Double. Entrants are required to carry at least 1 litre of fluids. There is one checkpoint roughly halfway on the course providing water, cola, electrolyte drink Tailwind and lollies.

Event parking is managed from Brookfield Recreation Reserve with TRAQ marshals on site. A shuttle bus service transports participants and families to and from Gold Creek Reservoir, with multiple buses anticipated and drop-off at the reservoir possible. SEQWater restricts parking at the reservoir and public parking should be left available for day visitors.

Entry fees differ by distance and a 10% discount applies for validated TRAQ members. Post-race provisions included in the entry fee are bakery goods and fresh fruit; additional drinks and refreshments may be available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
