PINK OUT 5K & 1 MILE
The PINK OUT 5K & 1 MILE is a community fundraising event hosted by United in Pink to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Held at the George Peake and Ann Peake Cross Country Trail at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Georgia, the event offers several participation options for runners and walkers.
The event features several distinct categories:
- 5K Race: A chip-timed competitive run.
- 5K Fun Run/Walk: An un-timed version for those completing the distance at their own pace.
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk: A shorter course designed for families.
- Virtual 5K: A flexible option allowing participants to complete the distance at any location.
The in-person 5K chip-timed race includes awards for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from under 10 to over 70. All participants receive a race shirt and post-race refreshments. Following the completion of the courses, the event hosts an awards ceremony and a Survivor Celebration.
Participants have the option to form individual or corporate teams to engage in fundraising. Prizes are awarded for the largest company team, the largest individual team, and the teams or individuals who raise the most funds. For tracking and engagement, the RaceJoy mobile application is available to both in-person and virtual participants to provide progress updates and messages during the event.
