Peacock Gap Trail Run

Peacock Gap Trail Run takes place on December 5, 2026 at China Camp State Park in San Rafael, California. The event offers multiple trail distances and a limited field capacity of 275 runners.

  • 30K : 19.5 miles, 2,735 feet elevation gain
  • Half Marathon : 13.1 miles, 1,800 feet elevation gain
  • 10K : 6.3 miles, 1,140 feet elevation gain

The courses use mostly moderately technical dirt single-track and non-technical fire roads. A notable climb begins about 1.5 miles into the routes. Courses are marked with colored surveyor ribbon placed frequently, with blue ribbons indicating wrong-way trails; additional laminated signs and ground markings appear at complicated junctions. Hiking or trekking poles are permitted.

Aid stations provide a variety of gels, snacks, real food, electrolyte drinks, and basic first aid supplies. Runners are encouraged to carry at least one 20 oz bottle because distances between aid stations vary. This is a cupless event; runners must carry their own reusable cup or soft flask. Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of bibs and the races are chip timed using MyLaps and Race Director. Drop bag service is not available.

Parking at Miwok Meadows is free; carpooling is encouraged. Dogs are allowed at Miwok Meadows but are not permitted on any trails within China Camp State Park. The 30K and Half Marathon have a six hour time limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
