Event details

The Pacifica Foothills Trail Run takes place January 24, 2026 at San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica, CA. Distances offered are:

  • 30K - 18.9 miles, 4,300 ft elevation gain
  • Half Marathon - 13.2 miles, 3,100 ft elevation gain
  • 10K - 6.0 miles, 1,200 ft elevation gain

The event has a capacity of 350 runners. Timing is done with disposable chip timing attached to the back of each bib. There is a 6 hour time limit for the 30K. Parking within the park is available for $6.00; limited neighborhood parking is also noted.

Course and logistics

Most of the routes run on moderately technical dirt trails, mainly twisty single-track with some fire road sections, climbing the Montara Mountain area. Hiking or trekking poles are permitted. Courses are marked with colored ribbons, laminated signs, and flour arrows where allowed; blue ribbons indicate wrong-way trails.

This is a cupless event. Aid stations will not provide paper cups; runners are expected to carry their own bottle or reusable cup. Reusable cups will be available for purchase at the event for $5. Drop bag service is not available.

Aid stations may offer energy gels and chews, stroopwafels, trail mix, pretzels, chips, cookies, PB&J sandwiches, boiled potatoes, soft drinks, water, Skratch Labs hydration, salt tablets, and seasonal fruit. Basic first aid items are available at aid stations, but no anti-inflammatory medication is provided.

Check-in and bib pickup occur on race morning. Dogs are not allowed in San Pedro Valley Park. To be guaranteed a race shirt size, registration must be completed by January 10, 2026. Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and age-group medals three deep across listed categories.
