OUTLAST Padre Island

OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance event held at 20420 Park Rd 22, Corpus Christi, TX on Padre Island. Participants run a 5K loop each hour; each lap must be completed within the hour to continue. Runners who finish early may rest until the next lap; runners who fail to complete a lap on time are removed from the event. The course uses trail terrain and can include dirt, sand, rocks, roots, elevation changes, and occasional pavement or gravel.

The event awards incremental accomplishments: completing four laps earns a Bronze "Grit Earned" leather patch, five laps earns a Silver "Survivor" leather patch, and completing all six laps earns a premium OUTLAST wooden medal. All participants receive an OUTLAST tee and sticker. Each 5K is timed individually and combined times determine local winners and placement on the national leaderboard. Top male and female local winners are recognized by fastest combined 5K times. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6 hour events is crowned National Champion with a $1,000 prize. The top five male and female six hour champions from each city earn a spot in the Outlast Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where Championship prizes are awarded to the top three finishers.
