Event overview

OUTLAST Gulf of America is a 6-hour trail endurance event held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Corpus Christi, TX. The event location is Padre Island National Seashore - Malaquite Visitor Center, 20420 Park Rd 22, Corpus Christi, TX 78418. The day includes packet pickup and awards for top finishers.

Course and format

Participants run a 5K loop each hour; each lap must be finished within the hour to continue. If a runner misses a lap, they are removed from further rounds. The course is on trail and beach terrain, described as sandy with natural features such as dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation; some sections may include pavement or gravel.

Aid is available at the basecamp/loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. The event is cupless, so runners should bring their own bottle or hydration system. Runners may rest between laps and may walk as long as they complete each 5K within the hour.

Awards and logistics

Finishers earn items based on laps completed: four laps = bronze leather patch, five laps = silver leather patch, six laps = a wooden OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a tee and sticker. The fastest combined 5K times by male and female finishers at each event win local 1st Place OUTLAST awards. Finishers who complete all six laps are ranked on a national leaderboard; the fastest across all events is named National Champion with prize money, and city champions may qualify for the Outlast Championship.
